Thursday, March 17th: Think Tank Thursday St. Patty's Edition
Last night Think Tank kicked off with Pedro Sostre, Founder of Navigate, and Alvaro De Jesus, Founder of Pivot Market and they discussed the fundraising journey from start to finish. The talk was all green from how to discuss terms, how to prospect investors and get the final institutional checks closed.
Pitch Night was open mic and we saw a variety of founders in all stages give their all on the fly. We were joined by Alexander McElfish from Argent Strategies who asked questions to founders who pitched for the first time, founders who have raised and were challenged to not use a deck.
We had DAOHQ founders Lucas Chu and Emmet Halm went first and did their first pitch in front of an audience, the Harvard dropouts, crushed it! They moved to Miami after being part of Miami Hack Week's Polygon House! Welcome guys!
Another first-timer Daizhia Dias is going to change how we look at affordable housing through 3D printing. Way to go for your first-time pitch and presenting Nubia Cities 3D!
The No-Deck team rocked it!
We had Alexander Max Kaplan with his extremely impressive connected languages app Linguado. He's a growth-stage startup we typically don't get to showcase in our startup but, we still made it challenging for this seasoned founder, on the fly no deck 3 minutes!
Another Kashawn Fraser first-timer doing a no-deck 3-minute pitched, this performance athlete and founder still got it across the finish line and introduced us to his SAAS company for personal trainers, Fitnessatyourdoor
